I started this Buffalo Blog while I was still in Arizona. It was a spin off from my first blog which I have maintained for almost two years. Now that I am in Buffalo and after asking some of the people who frequent this blog, I have decided to post everything starting today on my original blog:

Frugal Makes Cents

All frugality posts, Buffalo grocery shopping posts, retail deals, etc. will be on there from this day forward!

This will make it easier for me and for the Buffalo visitors. I won't have to maintain two blogs and they won't have to keep switching between blogs. I will leave the Frugal Precious blog up with the information that is already on it.

The Podge

Alex M., whose blog is here: LWM, Living Without Money has been very helpful giving me little tips about the area that I have moved to. One of the shopping places that she told me about is The Podge. It is at 10205 Main St. in Clarence.

DH and I took a trip there this morning and loved every minute of browing this wonderful place. Having lived in New York most of our lives, we always enjoyed the Trappist jams and jellies. So we were thrilled to see the selection that they carried and just had to pick up a couple of our favorites. Since I forgot to pack a muffin tin for the apartment, I purchased this one. DH found a cheese slicer that he just had to have. And since I love spices, all kinds, I picked up this grinder filled with spicy garlic and the 4 different kinds in one shaker of spice blends to add to dipping oils. They also carried Marsala cooking wine that is usually impossible to find. DH found wonderful SF cinnamon candies and a canister ( not in picture) for our coffee.

They carry all kinds of teas and coffees, spices, Asian specialties, all the Jelly Bellies in bulk, cookware, jarred items like bruschetta, roasted red peppers, etc. DH and I spent an hour shopping and could have probably spent another hour to see everything. This store will become a regular for us for out of the ordinary purchases.

So if you are in the area, be sure to stop. You won't be disappointed! Thanks so much Alex for letting me know about this store.

I spent another $9.00 on things I needed like Kummelweck Rolls, spices and milk so that I could use a $5.00/50.00 Store Coupon that came in Sunday's Buffalo News!

I desperately needed meat and fish. So I made a run to Tops this morning to get some and a few of the great deals for the week. Anything in the pictures that are not listed below was bought at Target and that post is on my other blog.

I ventured out this morning to the Top's Supermarket and signed up for a bonus card. I am just getting used to their prices so it will take me a while to get the really good deals. I have started my price book to keep track. But I didn't do too badly on the things I purchased:

For those of you who are close to Casey and Transit in Amherst, I have some information on the CVS sitting on that corner. They have been building it for quite a while and it looks almost ready to open. So I contacted corporate yesterday because I wanted to know when it would open. I was told March 7th! Hooray! This will be so close to out new home! CVS is my favorite drugstore for couponing!
